Getting Ready for a Trip of a Lifetime

Melbourne, Victoria.

The countdown is well and truly on with just a few weeks to go until the Bulleen Templestowe Cambodian adventure kicks off on 15th December 2010.

The group of school and basketball friends in the picture above will all be trooping off for 3 weeks of discovery, experiences and learning - accompanied of course by the hopefully extremely patient chaperones.

From the left, it's the Ramsay duo of Ellen and Tessa ... accompanied on this trip by Ellen number two, Loz, Jaymee (pronounced ja-may) and Celeste.

Cambodia is a country with a rich culture of wonderfully friendly people, but also a history scarred by the era of the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot.

Several decades have passed since that era and finally the country is coming to terms with it's traumatic past and accepting those times as a part of history ... and also as a part of defining the modern Cambodia.

Over the next few weeks we will discover the true history of Cambodian culture at the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat, experience the era of the Khmer Rouge killing fields at the modern museum of S21 and immerse ourselves in the hustle and bustle of modern Cambodia in Sien Reap then on to Phnom Penh and some quiet time in Kep on the Gulf of Thailand near the Vietnam boarder.

There will be lots to come on our blog, so check back every couple of days after 15th December and we will let you know about all our adventures ....
